Solid foundation

We will be arriving in Haiti on 11/2/17, and the purpose of the trip is the completion of the Leve/SOHLADAD house. It is so important to have a solid foundation, both spiritually and physically.  This house will be both types of foundations for the entire program.

• Spiritually, it will be where bible study will take place.  This is where the children will grow and get their spiritual fill, and because it is in the village where the kids live,  they will have the ability to go any day of the week that they need, rather than just once or twice a week as they do now.
• Physically, this will be a sturdy shelter for the Duroc's and all the kids.  They will be away from the elements, without worry of wind or rain.

One of the basic needs of every person is shelter, and this will be that shelter for each kid in the program.  The Duroc's started this house before we met them, and have poured their heart and soul into it and the kids.  The reality is, they just do not have the funds needed to have it completed.  The reality is, that each day in Haiti, prices can go up for materials and labor, especially when there is a natural disaster like a hurricane.  The cost to complete this house is now far above what the Duroc's earn to live, take care of their family and help run the program.  We need to get this completed and give the program a solid foundation!!!

​**UPDATE**
Just after writing this, we were informed that the Duroc's need to leave their current rental by December 1st.  Their daughter, Ruth has been having health issues due to something in the current home they are living in. Now it is even more important for us to complete their house.
