Haiti is an extraordinary country being challenged by difficult circumstances from natural disasters to poverty. This Caribbean country has endured earthquakes, tropical storms, as well as spiritual battles against Voodoo, and the challenges of poverty.
Our Christ-centered purpose is to provide a holistic family–style environment, providing spiritual, education, nutrition and health needs. Giving each child a possibility for a future and the ability to break the cycle of poverty.
The Leve Project is a Christ-centered design. We believe that a strong spiritual grounding, combined with education, nutrition and health can ensure that the Haitian children have a brighter future. Our support is not just for the children, but we also work with their families to ensure that our work is not only impactful, but also long-lasting.
We offer each child a chance of hope, and the opportunity to see a God who loves them and is with them. Voodoo has a powerful grip over Haiti, and there is a constant spiritual battle. Inspiring Haitians to understand their hope should not be in evil, but rather in the belief that God loves each one of them, and the only way to Him is through faith in His Son Jesus is one of our driving principles.
Every child we work with will receive schooling. The support we offer covers all tuition, books, supplies, uniforms, and advancement testing.
Sponsored children receive fully balanced meals twice a week at bible study. For those suffering from malnourishment, meals are delivered to their school and their home or available to them at Leve House daily.
Eric is the founder of Leve Project and has been helping in Haiti since 2007. He started working in Port-au-Prince with a organization that included a school, orphanage, and medical clinic. After the earthquake, he and a couple other people decided to start Leve Project and move the organization to Jacmel. He is passionate about helping the children strengthen their family bond, educate themselves, and grow their faith in Christ. He believes it is with those 3 key elements that the children of Haiti will break their cycle of poverty. He is married to Michele and has 3 kids; Helayna 23, Mia 15, and Sebastian 10. Mia was adopted from Vietnam, and Sebastian was adopted from Haiti shortly after the earthquake.
